Oh man, what can I even say about this kit?! We built this one for a super cool customer in Houston Texas and he wanted us to do something very out of the box and original. He had an idea to create some sort of labels for each drum and put giant barcodes on each piece. We took his idea and bounced it back with something that was strongly suited toward Evan’s skillset. We wanted to put labels on each drum of what they were (ie: “kick drum” “rack tom 1” etc.) and repeat those in a smaller hand-written font all of the drums. He loved the idea so we went for it. We settled on a mint green color to get some in your face vibrance matched up with a more subtle silver paint for the hand-written labels. The goal was to create something that look really amazing and almost textural from a distance but when you got close or especially when you played the kit you would notice what all the silver paint said. A very cool concept that we hadn’t seen before and we love originality. We sprayed the shells with a silver sparkle after the hand-writing was finished (which took Evan about 7 hours!) to bring it all together.
So what you get is a very original kit that changes in different lighting and at different angles. Its really a cool thing to just sit there and look at!
